History, centre and heritage

The Fondazione was created in 1981 by Luigi Micheletti, a businessman and cultural promoter from Brescia (Italy), who died in 1994.

The Fondazione is in the historic centre of Brescia, in via Cairoli n°9. It has more than three thousands metres of shelves divided into library, newspaper library, archives, photo library, iconographic library, film library and audiovisual library.

The reading room can host 40 people, and the meeting room is equipped with 20 seats.

The Fondazione's archives have documents of the political and social movements of the 20th century, as well as a specific section about ecology.

In the iconographic section there are posters, membership cards, postcards, flyers and others political propaganda's documents.

The photo library covers regards mainly with the Political history and Industrial history.

The audiovisual library stores videotapes, reels, audiotapes and records.

In the film library there are reels and videotapes (professional videos in different magnetic formats).

The Fondazione Micheletti's collection for the musil - Museum of Industry and Labor "Eugenio Battisti" is currently formed by machines, equipments and instruments, in addition to the documentation: production samples, catalogues, manuals, brochures and journals about industry and production.
